Any book dealing with History will start that Historical evidences are collected from the Literature (more flowery ) - Copper plates (Less flowery) and Inscriptions (more realistic).
Meykeerthis were introduced in the inscriptions by RR Chozha. Meykeerthis - flowery in praising the abilities of the King. Regarding conquests I do not think some one add the naadu which he has not conquered. atleast not RR or his son.
