Usually Hanuman is shown venerating Sri Rama in almost all places. But this temple has a unique representation: Hanuman singing with Veena in front of Sri Ramachandra.
Dr Kudavoil explained several years back the significance of this veena.. King Raghunadha Nayaka's adventures.. his passion in music.. his standardization of the no of struts used in veena.. so the veena Hanuman is holding is the famous Thanjavur veena which became the defacto standard after Raghunatha Nayaka.
