I have read ponniyin selvan quite a few times but I think Kalki has confused a bit.......probably sliped a bit when he was walking between the thin line of reality and Imagination....... In one perspective we can conclude that Nandini's father is the Pandiya king who took Oomai raani with him when she as unconcious...the pandia king who died in the battle with Karikalan is his son....so nandini is his sister... In another perspective....... i gathered that nandini and mathurandakan were born to oomai rani, but still it is not clear about who their father. most presumably it was Pandiya king. but then again kalki raises a doubt because "how can nandini refer to her father as her lover" and in her hallucinations, nandini refers to the pandiya king as "anbe"........ Not only me lot many people in the world are confused abt. If someone could throw some light on this I would be grateful. endrendrum anbudan, Ram
hai Iam new to this group & i want to share my experience of reading the great ever written book by kalki "PONNIYIN SELVAN". Although i had read only 5 or 6 books ,"ponniyin selvan" is the best who is gonnabe the king of chola kingdom & no one can guess that.As this story was first published in the book "kalki" & had came as a weekly edition,people who started reading would have been very eager to study the next week issue.when i started reading the book &i cant close even at night 2pm.Its excellent writing by kalki & no one can write a novel better than this.

Hai everyone! I'm new to this group and wanted to get introduced to everyone. My name is Rose Angeline Illavarasi. I've just finished my UG in chemistry, but very very much interested in history. I got this interest only after reading Ponniyin Selvan which I was lucky to get from an old library. Then I can't help reading historical novels! But I didn't find much friends around me of the same interest. I was again lucky to come across this group just by chance while going about the yahoo groups.
