  • Please give more info on ganesha

    Mamalla and ganesha

    Before Vatapi or after vatapi.

Please - we have left him long back. Still saluvankuppam ganesha is pending. Now one more - mamalla ganesha.
  • Dear Vj

Cave period is 640 -670 as per ASI.

    Vatapi attack - 642

hence pillayarpatti is the only pre vatapi so far.
  • dear sir

The ASI board /claim is not accepted by many scholars. High proportion say
    its a pandya cave.

from the previous conversation, the existence of Ganesha prior to vatapi in
south is not under question. the question to read and understand is was he
taken into the mainfold as son of shiva.
  • Dear Vj

But thevaram refers him as son of siva

any other cave image of ganesha in pallava period.
  • the upper shiva cave in malaiyadipatti features Ganesha but is along with
    sapta maatrikas.
  • dear vj,
do you or Arvind have a photo of them?
    kathie

Yes, we have some photos, you could check from Photos 129 onwards.
  • Mr.Shankarnarayanan should say which Thevarap patikam, since the period of Thevaram overlaps pre-pallava period and pallava period aswell..
