I hope you all are doing well. I'm doing well too, just a little busy with research here. For folks who don't know/remember me, I'm a student doing ph.d in computer science at UT Austin.
With due permissions from our beloved SPS, I'm writing this mail to raise awareness about a charity event at Austin.
Every year I participate in a walk/run event at Austin for a child-welfare organization called Vibha. I'm planning to do so this year too. Vibha has several welfare projects back in India supporting health, basic sanitation, education and other needs of under-privileged children. Any support from you - both moral and monetary - will be extremely appreciated. Please, please do consider donating for a good cause :)
I know what folks in India must be thinking: why should I donate money to the US and then, why should it be taken back to India? It's a valid question. If you are in India and are contributing to such projects, that's great. If not, you could potentially use this opportunity to change a child's life - even the slightest contribution from every member in our group can do wonders!
You can visit http://www.vibha.org/ for more information on Vibha's projects. Vibha has this event in other cities in the US too. Folks here can consider participating in those events as well.
