If you remember the first part of PS when VD is in Chinna Pazhuvettarayar's "maaligai", he comes across drawings of various latter chola kings starting with Vijayalaya. There Kalki mentions that corajakesari and copparakesari titles are taken alternately (not alternatively) by the Chola kings. For Example if Vijayalaya is corajakesari his son who ascended the throne next, Aditha, takes the title of copparakesari. This is as per Kalki's version in the novel.

Sir which volume of SII does this come under. - what does Koilpetral mean - also how is it that you connect Gunavan Madeviyar to Aditya - is it because this is in the list of all the other endowments connected to AK's boudyguards oferrings. and how do you infer that she died with AK. and why do you refer to AK as king.
The Chola kings took parakesari and rajakesari alternatively
Vijayalaya Parakesari
Adita Rajakesari
Paranthaka Parakesari
Rajathitha RIP
Kandirathitha Rajakesari
Arinjaya Parakesari
Parathanka Rajekesari
AK (RIP)
Uttama Parakesari
Raja raja Rajakesari
Rajendra Parakesari
My understanding is when they are crowned crown prince the cholas gave the prince co regent status and could do inscriptions.Hence AK could do inscriptions as he was crown prince when he died and Uthama succeded Parantaka 11

hi vijay the last pandyas had as many as a emperor and 4 co regents ruling at the same time. must have been like a confedaracy.

I asked basically anyone prior to rrc had this system....its not just appointing a successor but a co ruler.
