I would not go to an extreme saying moolaye vendam, ofcourse their knowledge is limited to their country, which is pretty much sufficient as still they are the worlds largest economy, which is more than enough for a few generations.
When the Chola empire was at peak, they would have believed that everything was under their dominance and not dependant on other countries for existance. A common man at the Chola empire may have not even had the mind to think outside of their district. Both empires are the same, stages and rules differ, concept still the same.
