    I think the decline came about not only in not having a personal vision but probably more in not having the ability to rule, manage and expand.

    If there was a RRC and RC to do it all over again, they should include a heavy dose of social engineering to link the conquered territories at the base level

    sometime back we had a thread on how the last kings of an empire on
    the decline rule for something like 25 years.

    i think that lethargy is what kills

    as far as strategy is involved it would have been appropiate
    technology and common sense.

    till the arrival of the gun i think size of the armies and strategic
    alliances between kings mattered

    Today there are no kings. Only corporates. Ambanis / Tatas / Marans rule India.

    We are at a stage where we cannot even get our neighbors to give us water... RJC or RRC just getting planted in today's world may not be a solution or idea. Forget RC or RJC...even Lord Rama would have a tough time in ruling us....
