The Capital of cholas shifted from Thiruchi(Pazhaiyarai) to Tanjore to Gangai gondan to Kumbakonam in course of time along the course of Cauvery.They built four masterpieces of architecture.They are located at Tanjore,Gangai gondan,Tarasuram(Kumbakonam) & Thiripuvanam.The elevation ( height ) of Vimana of these temples reduce from Tanjore to Thiripuvanam.But the artistic spirit reaches its zenith(maximum)at Tarasuram.But ironically all these temples are not religiously important.
I visited the first three temples.It is easy to reach Tanjore big temple or Tarasuram(Kumbakonam).
Tarasuram temple has thousands of stone Carvings and one need one full day to read important carvings.
