  • There were several Vikrama Chozhans !

Uthama was known Vikrama Chozhan. and Madurantagan.
Rajendra was also known as Vikrama Chozhan and Madurantagan!

This Vikrama ascended throne post Kulothunga I - 12th Century - ruled
a brief spell of about ten years. The weblink posted gives more
    details of this King.

  • Hi,

Kalki's vikrama chozhan is a fictional character.
  • Yes, the difference between Narasimha Pallavan and Thiruidaimaruthur
thunjiya Vikrama Cholan is not less than 300 Years.

    RjC!
  • hi

the contemprory chola of narasimha and his father was a minor king who
    comes in sivakaamiyin sabatham

his ticket to fame was that he was the father of mangayarkarasi and
father in law of nedumaran the pandya king( both of them nayanmars).

vikrama solan of parthiban kanavu was a fictional charecter rising out
of the creative churnings of kalki.

as others pointed out many of the major cholas were also called
vikrama but I think there was one vikrama who was called exclusively
    by that name after kulothunga.

but I have a feeling think this discovery is going to stir the hornets
    nest again
I CAN VISUALISE THE NEXT ISSUE OF VARALAARU:-))))

  • some info on vikrama chola from the net

vikrama's life was full of interesting events

vengi , kalinga were his campaigns as a viceroy

    recovering gangavadi was a failure

Vikrama Chola succeeded his father the famous Kulothunga Chola I to
the Chola throne in 1120 C.E.

He was partially successful in regaining some of the territories lost
    by his father.

During his reign the Chola country suffered from severe floods and the
resultant drought subsequently. Most of his provinces were affected.

Vikrama Chola was a great devotee of Siva and greatly patronised the
temple at Chidambaram. In 1128 C.E. he signalled his devotion by
allocating the entire revenue of the year to the upgrade and extension
of the temple. He had the main Vimana of the temple and the roofs of
the passages around the main deity covered with gold. He spent much of
    his time there.

The most characteristic title of Vikrama Chola was Tyagasamudra – the
ocean of sacrifice, which is found in his inscriptions and in
    Vikramacholan Ula.
