Thiruvidanthai temple once owned hundreds of acres of "useless"- beach land. but then now its on the east coast road and the oldmahabalipuramrroad and is literally a gold mine, making it one of the richest temples in the vicinity unfortunately varaha swamy has not escaped the land grabbers and so a lot of land has been lost by the temple
also madam jayalalitha wanted to make the seceretariat in thiruvidanthai. in effect it would have been the capital of tamil nadu.
photography is very much permitted in any asi monumnet subject to the condition that you use a HAND HELD CAMERA, including video(handycam). only use of flash is restricted. the difficulties, if any, for group members can be solved easily. restriction are there for commercial exploiters. the injuction applied by hr & ce like non-photograhy of objects of worship applies to all living temples under asi. i will check with rajavelu regarding inscriptions an dcome back later.
