If Nandini was the daughter of veerapandayan, then why as Sundara Chozha always so scared everytime he saw her in the night? What was his relation with the mute lady? I'm really confused... Also who did the actual killing of karikalan?
hello srini, i am karthik. Nandini was the daughter of veerapandayan because she was born because of unfortunate meet of nute lady and veerapandayan.that is the mute lady has 2 husbands..!karikalan was killed by periya pazuvetareyar( when he throwed the kinfe against nandhini it attacked him). thanx for mail.
hi i can answer u. but u need to know harmonious interpretations. 1)It seems that kalki wants to describe the importants events as it is. his intention must be, it shouldnt be a false one.he wouldnt have got substantial evidence to pin point any particular person. (you should refer arul mozhi's intention of not digging the murder/death of athitha karikalan - so, my point is he might have destroyed/not recorded the facts ) probably he might thought, to left to the readers to decide. you should also remember that, he says theres a kalvettu which says karikalan commits suicide. my view is nandhini should have killed her. but definitely unintentionaly. sudden entry of paluvettaraiyan in that hall might have compelled the nandhini to kill him. 2)nandhini is look alike mute lady. sundara cholan loved that bitch mute lady. thats a one-time mistake which he couldnt rectify in his life time. he is scared of nandhini, cos he thought its mute lady's soul. niranjan
Whenever Sundara Chozha saw Nandini, he believed that he was seeing her mother, Mandakini's ghost. That was because he had met her mother when he was a young prince and fell in love with her. But when he became the king he didn't have a choice but to leave her. Heartbroken Mandakini tired to commit suicide. But Sundar Chozha was convinced that she was dead. He didn't know that she had survived and had children. That's why whenever he saw Nandini he believed that he was seeing Mandakini's ghost. And about Karikalan's assacination, I have a strong suspicion that he commited suicide. But ofcourse my assumption is based on only on the facts given in the book.
I am really surprised no one raised a finger about mandhakini being called a b-----.
1.we are trying to promote our heritage and a magnum opus and the language and decorum is important....we will want youngsters and kids reading it.(everyones entitled to their veiws but the way you express it is importnat)
2. mandhakini didnt woo sundara chola he fell for her and vice versa..she was the wronged one and inspite of that cared for his children and saved one consistently..and finally gives her life to save him...its unfair to call her a mute b-----.
I am glad someone else felt the same way I did about Mandakini being called a b**** - I just read it today and was shocked (there’s been a deluge of emails in my ps folder of late :-)) and was wondering if I should say something or wait for the moderator to speak up. Whatever one’s opinion about the characters (and some of them are really just that - fictional characters), I think we should follow a certain code while speaking in a forum like this.
Suggestion to the moderator: How about a ‘code of conduct’ email? It may be helpful especially since there are so many new members now.
