We may keep "Trichy" as a base station from which to begin and end the tour as most places of interest and connecrted with history, are within easy access of Trichy.
If Trichy is the base, it may be possible to arrange free accommodation in a marriage hall, subject to the date being a non- Muhurtham day.
Trichy is well connected by public transport system, both rail and road. There are buses from most important cities/towns to and from Trichy. In fact, from Chennai, there is a bus almost every fifteen minutes which terminates or transits through Trichy. Members can all be advised to assemble at a particular point in Trichy from where the tour can begin as it happened with the "Irandam Yaththirai"
As suggested by another member, summer is a good time as most people enjoy their vacation so that they dont miss out the heat and sunshine!! (due to which there is less illness and diseases in our part of the country - world - for example the SARS scare had absoslutely no chance in our place).
