An Appeal for a 300 Years Ancient Temple
  • I am enclosing an appeal for the Mahakumbabishekam of Sri
Subramanya Swami temple in our Vaithiappapuram Gramam in
Kallidaikuruchi - Tirunelveli Dist. The temple was founded some 300
years ago and had its own pristine glory; but due to lack of
proper maintenance during the last 40 years the last
Mahakumbabishekam having been performed in 1964; the whole
temple structure including the terrace (roof) Madapalli, Vahana
Mandapam, Floors etc., has fallen into such a state of decay that
unless immediate Tiruppani work is undertaken the condition may
becomes worse, with the passage of time. It has therefore, been
decided to undertake repair / renovation work immediately, followed
by Mahakumbabishekam in early 2006 and appropriate festival
committees have been formed for the purpose in chennai. We would
like you to visit our Web site at www.srisamithi.info and a
detailed web site at www.geocities.com/srisamithi and see the
condition of the temple You will appreciate that such a gigantic task
cannot be completed without solid and generous support of all
devotees, especially the NRIs in particular. Every rupee you send
will inspire us to make the dream of hundreds of sri subramanya
Bhaktas a reality soon and restore the pristine glory of this
temple, which is landmark in this area. The Estimate is fixed at
about Rs 25 Lacs and above as per new costs. Needless to say, we
look forward to spontaneous and encouraging response to this
appeal, and you will readily agree that this is a rare opportunity
given to you to help a great divine cause dedicated to lord whose
benign blessings will always be available to you and your family
for the continued welfare and prosperity. With best regards and in
    the service of the Lord.

    Yours Sincerely
    Sri R.Ramasundaram Iyer
Hon Secretary - Sri Subramanya Seva Samithi Chennai Region
