" Dakshina Chitra organises a photo exhibition by the Photographic Society of Madras on "Temples of South India". More than 70 photographs will be on display.
" The Photographic Society of Madras was founded in 1857 and is one of the earliest photographic societies in the world. It was established to bring together photographers and enthusiasts, to create an opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, appreciate the art, and have fun travelling and exploring places.
" The exhibition is on from today (july 13) but it will be formally inaugurated on July 17 (Sunday) at 11am. by Dr.Chithra Madhavan, art historian, who will also deliver a talk on "Temples of India". The venue is DakshniaChitra (everyday 10.30 am to 5.30pm except Tuesdays). The exhibition will come to a close on July 31. For details, call 98414 36149. "
