I read in a book that Rajaraja I visited North Karnataka and to my knowledge I happen to compare these two temples.
So Raja raja might haveĀ Constructed the temple similar to the temple at Lakkundi

This temple was constructed by ganga Dynasty.Lakkundi Brahma Jinalaya is a Jain temple situated at Lakkundi village in Gadag District of Karnataka. It was constructed by Attimabbe, wife of Nagadeva who was a chieftain of Chalukya King Ahavamalla. The sacred sanctum of the temple houses the main deity of Vardhaman Mahavir, the last Jain Tirthankar. The temple is an outstanding example of the Karnataka style of architecture.
Jaina temple at Naregal(Narayana temple) is the biggest Rashtrakuta temple in Karnataka, in Ron taluk of Gadag District was built during the period of Krishna III, by Padmabbarasi, the queen of Ganga Permadi Bhutayya in 950 A.D. It has a sikhara of Dravida vimana type over the garbhagriha http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Jain_Narayana_temple1_at_Pattadakal.jpg
Hi, I am not sure if there are inscriptions to substantiate this. We can definirved pillars during 11th century in Tamil Country. The stone that where used here mostly, where harder, especially those used for pillars. The rest of the features are mostly common to temples in dravidadesa. Hence the images can hardly be taken as a start for this exploration. If there are further structural and iconographic elements which are similar, we can look closer. This is my humble view.
