ThirugnanaSambandar Thirumulaippal Festival at Sirkazhi
According to legend, when Sambandar was three years old his parents took him to the Shiva temple in sirkazhi where Shiva and his consort Parvati appeared before the child. His father saw drops of milk on the child's mouth and asked who had fed him, whereupon the boy pointed to the sky and responded with the song Todudaya Seviyan, the first verse of the Tevaram. At his investiture with the sacred thread, at the age of seven, he is said to have expounded the Vedas with great clarity. One of the four great divine poet, the Saiva saint Thirugnana Sambandar was bestowed with the divine grace by Lord Siva and Parvathy here. Every year in the Tamil month of Chithirai, Thirumulaippal festival is celebrated in a grand manner.
dear friend, i have been having this doubt since long time. 1.there is a house in sirkali near the western gate of the temple and it is beleived to be gnanasambandar birth place. 2. how come sambandar sing at his age of 3three. 3. was sambandar a real phenomenon or he was a dummy for the saivite protagonists as they wanted to spread saivism and writing poems for him( ghost wrriters?).4. there is a temple in achalpuram where he married. it is a very beautiful place and must see for everyone. the triangular region between kollidam village, tranquebar and pazhayar fishing port is a place full of ancient and pristine temples. before industrialisation takes place in few years all of us should see these places. ( thermal power stations are arriving shortly in thirumullaivasal and vanagiri) gandhi

2. how come sambandar sing at his age of 3three.? Sambandar mentions that he sang his 3rd song at Ponsei @ Punjai @ Thirunanipalli that he sang this sitting at his Father's shoulders. If a 13 year old can become Ramana overnight without any initiation, A 13 year old convent student suddenly becomes a mutt head, that too after the demise of the previous headand becomeMahaswami on his own- all in 20th C - why doubt that happening in 7th C. 3. was sambandar a real phenomenon or he was a dummy for the saivite protagonists as they wanted to spread saivism and writing poems for him( ghost wrriters?). When Jainism was the dominat religion with the patronage of Kings - Do we think that it is possible to do such acts. Many of us would have experianced some unexplainable things even in this 20th/21st CE. I have experianced a few and defenetly believe this.
Swami Vivekananda in recorded modern History was a genius at a very young age. He knew entire Mughabodha - Sanskrit Grammer for which the pandits break their heads by the age of 7 !
Mozart at the age of five compose some great music. Even Beethovan composed music when as a child !!! So Thirugnana Sambandar's achievements is not at all surprising.
The place sabha of Pamanai near Mannargudi ( Pamani is sung as Patalesvaram by sambandar and Pamani by Sundarar) was called as Thirugnana Sambanda Chaturvedi mangalam in mannargudi epigraphs
