Dear Friends,

Our dear Venkat @ Anusha Venkatesh - who has the special distinction having written and published the Sequal to Pooiniyinselvan titled as KAVIRIMYNDHAN and also the biography of Kalki, was interviewed in Makkal TV - Kalaimalar programme this morning - between 0710 - 0730.

Very interesting..

Unassumingly Venkatesh went on described How Amarar Kalki's writings influenced several Fictions which were penned later.

Recalling ::

Kalki wrote PS in the year 1950 - 54. Ten years prior to that he wrote Sivagamiyim Sabatham. Though Vanchikottaivaliban movie was shot in about 1958 or so, Vaijayanthimala boat scene was exactly as it was described of Poonguzhali's boat scene in the PS !!

Let it be MGR, Kalal or today's Manirathanam - it is not possible to ignore the impact of Kalki's PS till date.. !!

Jambawan Vikraman wrote a sequal to PS titled Vandhiaythevanvaal - Nandhpurathu nayagi, but he himself confessed it was difficult to handle all the real and fictitious characters for him.. for certain reasons he had to name NANDHINI - a fictitious character as THALAIVI !! Anusha Venkat @ Venkat started writing sequal after ab out 30 years, but it took more than 2 years of hard work.. He enjoyed a special privilege which others could not ::

As part of PSVP he could gain access about 2000 + ardent fans of Kalki and more particularly Ponniyinselvan - who could thorughly share their minds with his initial flow of writings and this helped him shaping up his Sequal. Kalki - while writing his epilogue - mentioned that Sambuvaryar Clan was the distinguished clan which outlived others till about 17 - 18 Century - who renovated thiruvakkari Vakkarakali temple etc., and thus he was motivated to take lead from Kandhamaran !!

Venkat also gets calls as to what happened this character / that character in his Kavirimyndhan - which need to be interpreted as its true success since the reader still thinks of such characters after putting down the book !!

He gave a flowery tribute to Dr. Kailasam that he wrote what happened to the characters before PS !!

When the interviewer asked what are the other benefits, he shared ::

With a group of like minded ones, Yaathirai - the route of Vandhiyathevan - traced more than 3 - 4 times ; temple renovation activities in the form of REACH .. Several friends started writing Fictional works ( including Dhiwakar / Gokul.. though this part was edited in the Interview due to paucity of time)...

He did describe re Thillayil oru Kollikkaran, Kanchipuram and his ambition in bringing out a detailed work on Malikgafur - who invaded till Rameswaram in the pre-Explosive cambat Era and considered among the Greatest !!
