You may ask why ajivika now?

I am reading the book “ Topographical list of Inscriptions of Tamilnadu and Kerala ( till 1300) by Sri TV Mahalingam, published by S.Chand & Compnay. This gives a brief note on each inscription, town wise and temple wise with ref no. Then from the ref no – you can refer ASI/SII/EI the required inscription.

Total 9 volumes. In Chennai office of Chand & Co they have 3 volumes ( T.veli, Pudukkottai & Ramnad and Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri) One library showed me the Chennai and Old kanchipuram district inscriptions from which I took notes for Ramayanam and other interesting epigraphs.

In Kanchipuram – This interesting epigraph is found.

Place Kamakshi Amman temple – Lumbur room – a slab

    ARE – 1954-55 – 360 Part ii – Page 16

Pallava – Rajasimha RY 18 – AD 708-09 who is referred as Narasingappotharayar

It sates that the queen Lokamadevi was affected by Brahmarakshas. The inscription also mentions about an acharya of ajvika darshan, the activities of ajavikas and a temple of "Arivars"are referred in the epigraph.- The acharya may be the one who probably cured her.

It is very interesting and request members who have thesome details on this to post.
