• Dear All

I think its time to analyse Paisasam....a fine piece of work by our
    Gokul....

Just finished Mohini theevu last night and it rang a distnat bel with
    paisasam

For a start the them was different a thriller that too a supernatural
thriller set in the historical times....the charectors are all well
defined the names with a historic lilt...

Thiruvarangan the protector of the village the padi kavalan is trying
to unravel the mysterious happenings in his village all attributed to
the ghost of a mentally challenged boy who dies mysteriously a year
    ago...
He seeks the help of his teacher Venaataar...there are list of
physical suspects as they all act mysteriosly from the Koil Poosari,
    the Washerwoman..etc.
How Venaataar unravels the mystery and illuminates him and saves the
    village is the story.

The style is very much akin Kalki the author conversing to the
audience every now and then durng his story telling.

The suspense is preserved till the very end and its where Gokul
scores..He does give the unexpected twists in the end...

The changing scenarios or the description surely require great
accolades not to mention the pictures to illustrate the various
    landmarks...

Gokul we are proud of you....

PS Group...and the creativist in PS group I have a request why not
    make a teleserial of Paisasam...

You have have the script...screen play...the sequence...the location
    for the serial...

All we need is a star cast and directors and music...

I think we can form a consortium to produce it

    What do you all think...

Atleast we would have decreased the bloodpressure and saved some
tears in all those watching weeping teleserials

Thanks for all the kind comments, Sri.

PS group members are the ones who actively read my novels and provide
valuable feedbacks. I still remember that originally rajakesari was
featured in PS group and the positive kudos you provided then. All
these pats go a long way as I try to sit down and write something
    amidst official and household scores

Paisaasam was initially not well accepted - especially after a novel
like Rajakesari with its historic settings. But as it grew chapter
after chapter, there were more and more audiance who began to
    appreciate the flow.

Paisaasam was originally writen as a short story for "Kalvettu kadhai"
series when varalaaru.com was started. But I was astonished as I
completed the story - I thought I am not doing any justice either to
the village or the wondeful inscription. I did not publish the story
and wrote another one called "sendhan" which went with the first issue.

Happy that people like you - who have read almost every other historic
novel written in tamil - are able to enjoy the plot.

    Very best regards
    Gokul.S
  • Dear All

I am glad another member has brough PAISASAM back to the discussion. I would really recommend members to read it. It is there in Varalaaru.com

The twists and turns of a page turning thriller.. in the historical background in just great and of course there is a twist in the tale in the end as well

A well worthy read...If any one has the money get the TV rights off Gokul..It will make a fantastic serial as opposed to our family DDDDDDDDDDDDRRRRRRRamas

    Sri
