No words to describe the trip. It was too good .We had good pow wows discussing PS, SS & trying to defend our favorite characters. Udayar came up & lots of discussions followed. (Vijay you missed it).
I have grown up in Madras but all the places we visited were new to me Thanks to the organisers.
Overall an Awesome trip says Ramakrishnan.
As we are busy with some work till 20th the photos will be uploaded inparts.
Thiru , how do I upload photos directly on our webpage.
I've not talked about the function on 15th'cos its already been done by many. I enjoyed the function immensely, esp. the honor of Ponnadai Porthal to both the granddaughters of Kalki.

YAH.. YOU TOO HAVE GONE INTO HISTORY WITH THIS SPECIAL

HAPPENING :: TWO PONNADAI PORTHAL TO THE GRAND DAUGHTERS OF

KALKI ON THE SAME DAY !!

IF AT ALL SOME ONE EQUALS THIS LATER , THEN WE CAN DRAG - THE ADDITIONAL ELEMENT - ON AN INDEPENDENCE DAY !!

    very best regards /

Are ganesha figures also present in gudu? The above pic has a ganesha in the gudu, next to the buddha.
  • hi nanda

next time you go to the shore temple in mallai, check the koodu there. (
scroll to the bottom of this post)

    http://www.poetryinstone.in/lang/en/2009/01/01/there-are-no-ganesha-sculptures-in-mallai-except-for.html
  • Hi VJ,

I did remember reading your post. The only difference is that in the shore temple Buddha faces, ganas & Ganapathi are available on the gudus. In the Marakanam, Boomishwarar temple, its was only Buddhas in all the gudus except for this one, while Ganas were part of the vimana and were not in the gudus.

Maybe sthapathis can given better explanation.
  • hi nanda

Will try and check with sri Umapathy Stapathi
  • Just noticed Nanda's mail.

    Very nice observation dear Nandha.

    thanks Vijay.
