True Fame - Meikeerthi ( Mei -true + Keerthi - fame) - maiden podcast
  • Hi friends,

Ever since i read ps, the amazing lure of Raja raja chola and his
meikeerthi/prasithi has been close to my heart. The project madurai
archives yeiled the meikeerthi source file ( its in our files section
as well) - so an idea dawned to have podcasts of each great kings
meikeerthi as they would be sung - with due considerations to my
tamil, i was bouncing the idea with quite a number of friends, till
vinjamoor decided to take on the challenge. Why i say challenge is,
the verses are complex conjoined creations and like a surgeon you got
to split them to come with the actual words ( padam pirithal).

However, wanting vinjamoor to do this on his own, i just gave him the
macro idea and he hit it out on his own. Credit to him, he has come
out with a masterly narration. Thanks to thiru again for helping us
    and egging us on.

I hope you will all like this and join me in congratulating vinjamoor
venkatesh on his maiden effort. I hope this will spur him and many
more interested enthusiasts to do such and help preserve our rich heritage

  • Dear Vijay,

My sincere thanks for your guidance. In fact you made me do this.

    And Thiru,
Thanks for hosting this on the site and your valuable comments.

Hoping to do moreon this with other Meikeerthis as well. But will need some time as, asrightly said by Vijay, itis really tough to decipher and understand each word.
  • Thank you....
    very good effort....
    waiting for more!

  • Very good effort Mr. Venkatesh (V). I already heard this.

This should be spread properly. It is a fact that most of the people do not know RRC. This should also reach people who can not read or write tamil. If possible you can give short meanings (explanation)in simple tamil whenever a difficult phrase of tamil intervenes.

    Please continue.
  • Dhivakar Sir / Vairam,

    Many thanks for theencouraging words.

Yes, Iam planning to giveshort meanings, if not word by word. In fact I have done this in the first one itself. Only that, it is given as asummary of the meanings.
  • - Dear Venkatesh, Vijay and Thiru,

    Nicely done.

    hearty congrats.

    Best wishes for more accomplishments.
