The major work is Thiruvaarur covering the temple in great detail.
The then (and the current) chief minister corrected the original of this book - page by page - before it went to print. It was released during the Kudamuzhukku of Thiruvarur temple amidst lakhs of devotees.
The book was presented in person by the author to kanchi maamuni. The saint closed his eyes and kept the book in his head - for almost 10 minutes - no words spoken. Then the book was returned back to the author with the trademark smile & blessings - once again not a single word exchanged.
This experience is well detailed in a lecture (orgainzed by krishna sweets) which Dr Kudavoil delivered in Coimbatore almost a year back. The same has appeared in print in Rasanai magazine in which he writes a regular series. Title of this lecture:"Kurai Ondrumillai"
Chief minister was obviously happy with the work Thiruvaarur but felt that the famous Ther was not covered in detail.
Then a minor book was written - "Aaarur Aazhitter"
Like many other good books, both are out of print.
Thanks Gokul. I always end up looking for books that are out of print. After several years of waiting I was able to buy ' Nadanthai Vazhi Kaveri ' which is available now. Hoping Tiruvarur books to be available soon.
Just completed reading of the book 'Nadanthai Vazhi Kaveri'. Excellent writing...more details of Cauvery. I have been waiting for this book. Got it in the recent Chennai book fair, published by Kalachuvadu.
