Hi I had the opportunity of transversing punjab from (south to north) in one stretch on road yesterday, travelling from delhi to himachalpradesh. went into kurushethra and panipet but very little remains of the battlefields.( i hadnt done my research prior to it or I could have visited the lodi tomb) Just started wondering. where are the historic battlefields of tamilnadu.? SPS can you enlighten us?
If my memory is correct, I know one field near thanjavur which is called "Kovil Venni" where there was a war between Pallava and Chalukya. And I this this is mentioned in "Raja Thilagam" by Sandilyan.
Was this is also the place "Venni" where it is said Karikalan beat 11 Velir's ? It is in a book called Thennatu porkalankal! I will check the book and try to post a list of battlefields
