state archaeology
  • that the department has brought out numerous publications in the past
two yeras is good effort for this eternally sleeping deparent.but the
identifcation of harappan script on the neolithic axe is the wildest
iagination of the departent and the great scholar I.mahadevan. If they
had shown it to the Cm without conferring the discovery in the acdemic
circles, it is a huge mistake. i write with the experience of having
examined any neolithic axes ( as my formative years in ASI were spent
in exploring neolithic sites) and being the custodian of the largest
collection of harappan seals in India for over three years.

Yes , Dr R. Nagasamy popularised the Tamil Archaeology in the state of Tamil Nadu. He has written many monographs on Chola Temples , of which mention should be made of Gangaikonda Cholapuram etc., Please visit, Tamilar arts academy web site to know more about him.

inscriptions and iconography to common man was unimaginable. If some
village people in north TN are aware of inscriptions and sculptures
means, Dr.Nagasamy is the man benind".
