A few days back in Vikatan, Sujatha Rangaraajan had written beautifully,

appadeennu oru image irukkum... It is impossible to satisfy everybody who has read the book... Even then, if they take a movie.... some tamizhan living in arabia would coolly say, "padam bookku alavakku illai...yean bookla 30% effect kooda illai.."
I think Sujatha has written aptly...

I just dont want somebody to see the movie/serial without reading the book and say... What the hell of a story is this... !!
i read "Mahabaratham" story in just 18 lines compiled by somebody.. it was just apt and the essence of the story was not missing at all.....
ellam is in the hands of the director .... starcast and screenplay eppadi irukkumnnu decide panni panna superaa edukkalaam.....
imagine NTR playing Krishna and Rama .. dont you think he was apt??? Imagine Nitish Bharadwaj playing Krishna in the teleserial Mahabaratham.. appadiye krishnanai nerla paakkaraa maadhiri irukkum......kaalllla vizhundhu kumbidalaam pola irukkum....
ozhunga decide panni.. correct aa panna easyaana velai..... satisfy panna mudiyaadhu ... so not possible ellaam summa kadhai vidaradhu..... bayandhunde approach panradhu ennikkum udhavaadhu.....

Diwakar, Your opinion that a good director can make things happen is optimistic. But the word "GOOD" is whats going to make the difference.
I remember Mr.Kumaravel's words during our Vikraman meet - "Show mudincha udana kamal dressing roomukku vandhu romba paratinaru. immediately he asked, mylaporelenrdhu mamiellam vandhirupangale. amam sir vandhanganu sonnen. udane avar, kayila PS bookoda vandhirupangale. avangala satisfy pannave mudiyathuppa. adhanalathan naan drop panniten".
A giant in his arena, with such a comment, should give a second thought to the directors.
kamal mudhalla andha paazhaapona marudhanaayagathai mudikkattum.... appuram mathadhai pathi pesattum......kamal mudiyalainnnu sonnadhaala onnum periya nashtam kidaiyaadhu..... lot more people are better talented than Kamal... I strongly believe
naan thirumbavum solren... it is possible to do PS as a serial...... Mahabrath kku oru B.R. Chopra, ramayan ku oru ramanand sagar maadhiri yaaraavahdu kandippaa kidaippaanga......
andha casting konjam ninaichu paaru... puneet essaar maadhiri oruthar was put in Duryodhanan role.... adichukka aale illai......
when it was dubbed into Tamil.. i think it was "shanmugasundarm" who gave the dubbing .... mavane.. nijamaa puneet essar wud not have been able to give that voice and modulation... ennaoru veri .. aakrosham inthat voice.....
so there are lot of talented guys .... summaa kamal sonnaan.... sujatha sonnaan.. nnu ellam bayandhu nikkaradhu madathanam....
