I have a thought that if people from this group have a dream of making Ponniyin Selvan serial why don't we do our selves.
Nothing is impossible.
There are 2 approach we needed.
1] Excecutive structure 2] Marketing structure
1] We need to have sponsorships on episodes per week one basis. I am ready to sponsor 1 episode.
2] We have to generate money by allowing people(arranging tourists programs) to visit live shooting and visit Chola places. That generates some money regularly and gives word-to-mouth advertisement.
3] Getting abroad TV pre commitments, pre commited business advertisements.
If we do this great work, ours become great as Ponniyin Selvan's historic thiyagam and Kalkis great work.
I just put here my idea, please share your ideas. People in India or abroad can do their best to find people sponsoring episodes.
If things goes well we can start something this year ponniyin selvan's birth day.
I heard that few years ago a few groups wanted to make this a TV serial and they approached Sun TV.
It looks Sun TV has told them to shoot a few episodes and submit it to them for review and didn't committ on money or timing...
Unfortunately, nobody turned up. I belive it is such an expensive affair...
Even if all members of this group wanted to sell their properties and venure into this, it will not be a reality...
Over the years, people have built-up an image about RR, Paluvettaraiyar, Nandhini etc., It is very difficult to meet the expectations with a TV serial...
What happend to the movie "Parthiban Kanavu." I guess it was never a hit...
i accept with what venkateswaran has said. may be for money we can manage to get sponsors. but filling the characters is really difficult. in our class we used to discuss abt various actor who can act as the PS character and we all have the same opinion that no one at present have such a talent to act and fulfill atleast 30% of anyones expectations.
Yes you are correct. The actor should live with the charactors. R.S. Manohar all the time dedicated to Drama. He can be considered for the Pazhuvettaraiyar role.
I recently met a person who is PS fan working for the TV in UK. He told he can talk to the director about it. They have around 10000 customers. Next month that TV goes to full Europe.
Like that we can take initiatives wherever we are. Somebody can work out in Singapore and US. Atlast we can approach Sun or Vijay with some commitments. They can do further on it.
People defintely will say OK for the serial about Rajaraja Cholan.
