Pavi - in her excellent travellogue writes that Mr.Vishvaksenan talks about a possible revolt at Kiz Kadambur after Rajaraja's enquiry. I'd like to know whether there are any archaeological evidences to support this. It is quite possible that a temple might be destroyed even at a later date - for an altogether different reason - or it might even be the result of continuous negligence. If my memory does not fail, I don't seem to recollect anything like this in SRB's masterpiece work " Early chola art" which covers Keez Kadambur temple. Infact the first authentic revolt of chola era recorded in inscriptions is in the year of Rajaraja III - who comes at the tail end of chola era. I Look forward to Mr.Vishwaksenan's comments.
