Glad to see that this idea is taking shape. To make things more clear to the group, let me put it again.
The new Institute is to get
1. Preserve the kalvettu / copy it / record it on a war-footing so that no further damage to recorded history.
2. Getting this massive work done by school/college students who get to learn and earn out of this experience. Tamil history in all its depth has to be taught here.
3. One way of earning potential is through tourism.
4. When we think of tourists, we have to equip our students with linguistic skills and presentation skills, so that we give right information to the foreigners in languages that they understand. Hence we should have foreign languages as part of the curriculum.
5. This in no way would be a research institute that exists already - as it is not meant for scholars - it is for simple students.
6. The research institutes and scholars would assist in setting up the course content and conduct the sessions if they are willing.
I think more discussion on this would help us crystalise the idea.
