In the series of monuments of Karnataka, here comes the next article on Dambal which is famous for its Bhumija architecture temple built on a stellar plan. As per epigraphs found at the place, it is evident that Dambal patronized all three major religions, Hindu, Jainism and Buddhism, till the thirteenth century CE. However, after the end of thirteenth century, Jainism and Buddhism declined and almost vanished from the scene.
The temple is a curious piece from architectural study as the stellar plan is not restricted only to its base but has been carried upward till the top of shikhara.
