Dear Friends, In the series of the temples of Karnataka, our next stop is Galaganatha where stood Galageshvara Temple famous for its sparshalinga. Somnath in Gujarat is also famous for a sparshalinga. As per a legend, if you worship the lord at Galageshvara by placing an iron rod near by the linga then that rod will turn into gold. The temple has a very unique pyramidal vimana base which was needed to save it from being washed away by the nearby Tungabhadra river. The river flows just the foot of the temple which provides a very serene environment and surroundings.
