Vaikunta Ekadasi Swargavasal in Nachiyar Koil Temple
Nachiyar koil is the important divyadesam near to kumbakonam. The presiding deity here is Lord Srinivasar, with His consort, Vanchulavalli Thaayaar. In this temple the vaigunda Agadhasi Festival is performed today morning.Vaikunta Ekadasi is one the important and auspicious days to the Hindus. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It occurs in the Hindu calendar, in the month of Markazhi (Between December and January). On this day, the Swarga Vaasal, 'The Gates of Heaven' are believed to be kept open.
FYI. It is not Swargavasal, it is called Paramapatha Vasal. As per acharyaals Sorgam is on 3rd level (you will come back) where as Paramapatha vasal (done deal!) is at 7th level.
