This is an old, but updated, posts with new studies. The Buddhist caves of Bagh in MP are, probably, the earliest caves where we find paintings or murals. We all might be aware of the Ajanta caves its magnificent paintings, however very few know about Bagh. The paintings here are very much in ruins, much of which is due to natural causes. Many art experts have praised the painting, subject and techniques used at Bagh, and some examples are far better than those at Ajanta.
