We are happy to announce that the Gangai Kondan Mandapam, which places a Hanumar Idol inside and is worshipped, where the Sacred umbrella is made for generations together in Kanchipuram, opposite the famed Sankara Mutt, is in danger and the lintel stones have broken. This is to be renovated by REACH with donation given by a philanthropist Mr. Narayanan. An entrance to the Vedantha Desikar Mandap in Thupul is also dilapidated, and that would also be renovated soon sponsored by the same person. We thank wholeheartedly Mr. Narayanan for this gesture and the Puja to start the work for the Hanuman Mandap is to take place on Wednesday (14th Dec 2011) 9 AM.
