  • MICHAEL WOOD'S TRAVELS THROUGH THE HISTORY OF INDIA
    BEACH COMERS:
The sea water levels were lower and the beaches were long and broad along the coasts of india and africw. This allowed waves of yearly men to leave Africa along the coast hunting fish. This was 50,000 years ago and that was the first journey of the homosapiens.
They crossed the land bridge connecting the horn of Africa and Arabian peninsula, came along the Persian coast down to cape comorin. They had furthered their migrations upto the Australian continent in the millenniums to come.
The mitochondrial DNA m-150 is still shared between the early people of india ,Africa and the Australians. These early people still live in small pockets in the mountainous jungles of india isolated from rest of the population.
The greek warriors who came with "Alexander the great" in 300BC have described one such population in the makran desert. They called them" the ichthyo-phagios"( fish eaters). Modern day DNA studies on these makran people still confirm their similarity with the other aboriginal populations in india and Africa.
India has been invaded by people after people . in other words it is a land for all people who came here, settled and spread peacefully and sometimes violently.
