This Oriyur village could be the one near the border of Ramnad and Pudukkottai districtwhich could be the place of Oriyuran, father of Vijayayala. Please see the link :
Moreover, this part of Oriyur and Pudukkottai districts have considerable population of Maravar branch of the Devar community. Hence this could be possible.
There is nothing wrong in a person having a name Otriyooran. That is one of Siva's name and was popular due to Sundarar's life.
We are reading tooo much in that name. We should not speculate.
For eg - SriVallaban is the name of the god in Thiruvalla in Kerala. ( sung by nammaalwar and Thirumangai) That dose not mean Srimara srivallabha Pandya was from Thiruvalla.
The interesting bit here is that the Cholas weren't so big during this time; Tanjore to Pazhaiyarai to Tanjore to GKC is possible because they controlled the whole area. Oriyur being near Chennai, which is in Pallava lands is interesting in many ways...
Hence my opinion that they weren't the main line, which would surely have ruled from Uraiyur.
