Thomas Manroe was an ardent devotee of Tirumala Venkateswara. He maid an endownment for daily offering of curd rice. This is offered till date at Tirumala as Manroe Kangalam.
When British wanted to take over Ragavendra Mantralaya lands - Manroe was asked to inspect the records. Lord Ragavendra himself gave darshan to him and clarified that the lands belong to Mantralaya. Manroe recorded this and sent report.
When he was the Collector of Chittor - East India Company wanted to takeover Tirumala income which he opposed and stopped.
