dear venkatesh: yes, the outer walls of the GKC were mowed down and the stone boulders were used to build the lower anaikarai dam..when the villagers protested the then British govt deposited a large sum of money on the GKC and it is a matter of research to know where the money is now stashed in..presumably in a bank..but which bank?...the money is intended for the GKC maintennace.. sps sir could you please clarify this aspect further....
