Hi, Today I received the MARG publication book, on the occasion of 1000 years of Brihdeshvara temple. The book is titled, 'The Great Temple at Thanjavur, One Thousand Years, 1010-2010'. Written and edited by George Michell and Indira Viswanathan Peterson. The book gives details about the various components of the temple and its subsidiary shrines. Separate chapters are created for these discussions. One full chapter is dedicated to the mural paintings of the temple, with detailed photographs of all the murals. These photographs are taken with courtesy from Mr Thyagaraja and ASI.
The book from Dr Nagaswamy, details about the concept of the temple and the motivation for this temple, as rightly stated by SPS sir, whereas this book details about the various components of the temple and its significance in current time.
