I did not attribute anything to you. You brought in the point about the word "idol" sounding negative to Western ears. I am saying just because it sounds negative to some, people can not conduct themselves to please the other.
In everyday conversations an Indian is likely to use the words "moorthi" or "vigraha" (or something else). Not much attention is paid to the word "idol" anyway.
