MANUKULAKESARI....MANUKULAKESARINALLUR
  • Dear All,

Can anybody share with me the details of Chola king Manukulakesari?

I was told by a History professor my village name was called as Manukulakesarinallur. This village presently known as Udayavartheeyanur and is in Ariyalur district.

Also there is a Lord Shiva temple ( Jamadakneeswarar) in my village. This has some connection to this King it seems. This temple is around 1000 year old. It has lot of inscriptions. I am trying to get the details of this from various people.
  • Dear Mr. Murugan,

RE inscriptions related to Ariyalur area - Dr. Thiagarajan, Head of History Dept, Arts College, Ariyalur, TN - would be of immense use.

Either he would have already published a paper or send some of his students to study and revert.

    Pls write to him.'

    thanks and regards . sps
