Jeyamohan's Yezhavadhu Ulagam is more painful than the movie - That's what many blogs say about this film. Its true that you cannot show the emotions of a writer expressed in words in visual media.
Having said that Naan Kadavul itself leaves a queasy feeling in your stomach. Trust jeyamohan would have done a research before he wrote this book. So the writer takes the first bow.
When his contemporary make cinema is only for entertainment Bala has taken Tamizh Cinema to new heights. When all the movies have rich costumes / locations / pretty looking artiste (Even the heroine's friends they look good now a days! ) as the ingredients for success, Bala has broken all that. Hats off Bala
When the salt is perfect you don't feel / appreciate the taste of salt. When its less or more you call for it. Same is the case with ilayaraja's background music. Its haunting and there is a melancholy strain in that. You do magic man!

1. Was it a typo that you mentioned ARR? 2. I saw this movie in nanganallur Vetrivelan theatre. In that theatre's version I didnt get the Madha Un Kovilil song - Thanks to the local B.Lenin - V.T Vijayan in those theatres. My guess - The blind singer sings this song as she also sings Sondham illai Bandham illa song (Only the first few lines) 3. This movie you should appriciate Raja for the background score and camera angles. The camera makes you feel that you are also one participant in the scene and IR's background score leaves a queasy feeling in your stomach.

PS: Director Myshkin is directing a movie called Nandalala and IR is the music director for that movie. He used Sundar Babu for music in his previous ventures (Chithiram Pesuthadi/Anjathe) has approached IR as there will be no dilalogue in Nandalala for the last 45 minutes.
