First order of approximation: If the big temple is assumed to be prism with a square base, shadow of the vimana will fall within its base, if the side angle is less than 56 deg. , on all days of the year, when the sun is within 34 degrees from true vertical (local noon). Sampath
Thanks Satheesh. I have seen a similar photograph. When was the picture take? It appears to be late afternoon (3 and 4) or late morning (9 and 10). Are there any pictures taken around noon time during winter solstice, dec. 21st or thereabouts, when the sun is farthest south? If the shadow falls inside the base at local noon time, we can then say that the 'modified myth' is true and verifiable. Sampath
