Early Sculpture
  • Dear Friends,
I realize I don't know much about many of the subjects
discussed here; my main fascination is early sculpture,
    & Sthala Puranas.

Are any of you experts in murthis earlier than 10th century:
Pallava, Pandya & Chozha & their feudatories,
such as Muttaraiyars, Irukkuvels, & Pulluvettaraiyars ?
I'd love to hear your recommendations.

In TN, my favorite sitesfor sculpture are :
    Mahabalipuram Kanchipuram Trichy Rock Fort,
    Pullamangai Srinivasanallur Keezhaiyur, Ariyalur Dist.
    Darasuram
    Kumbakonam ~ Nageshwaram

    Sendalai Kudumbalur Narttamalai
    Kudimiyanamalai
    Thirugokarnam
    2 temples at Thirumayam

    Thirupparankundram, Nataraja Panel Kalugumalai

I'm also looking for any large groves with Ayyannar Shrines.

Please, if you have time, add to my list.
    Thank you so much,
    Kathie
