Samayapuram was a chola capital called Kulothunga Chola puram , lateron called Somayya nalore where Malikaffur in 1310 converted or killed hinus numbering 1000s. quoted in a traveelers book. It was called kannanur in Chola period. I did M.Phil under a topic "Samayapuram Poysaleeswarar Temple a sudy in Annamalai University DDE Chidambaram with role No 40300500064. In this I quoted about the history from AD 1000 to till 2000. with few maps.
