Hi all, Oops! I am confused again. As Gokul is trying to trace the route of the Leiden plates, I am confused about the origin of the Leiden plates themselves. Mr. SB said: Also pls. recall comparison between Vishnu and Rajaraja in Uthiramerur Copper plates (Big Laiden). Then Kamal said: A small correction. The copper plates in leiden belongs to Thiruvaalangaadu. Not Uthiramerur.
Kalki says (In Ponniyin Selvan Vol-3 Ch-10 Soodaamani Vihaaram):
Rajaraja Chola donated the Aanaimangalam village and other related villages to Nagaipattinam Soodamani Viharam. This donation was immortalized by his son, Rajendra Chola, in copper plates. These are called 'Aanaimangalam Copper plates'. There are a total of 21 copper plates, each measuring 14"x5", and held together by a copper ring. These plates are in Leiden Museum in Holland. So some historians refer to these as Leiden Plates.
Aren't Tiruvalangaadu plates different? Those are the ones which say "Drohi Ravidasan", and about Karikalan's death, right? And Leiden plates are on Soodamani viharam.... I am confused :( Please clarify Thilak
