Kamal and his Q's
  • To the Long-silent members of PS...

Kamal's essay was really neat- K, you've got great style. You seem to have
    enjoyed yourself on the trip.:-)

Here're the answers (to my knowledge)- for your Q's...

Q.No. 1. Where is the place 'Mudiyur' mentioned in PS?

    Hah! Found it!

A: Excerpt from the 4th paagam of PS: Episode 2- 'Paattanum Peranum'.

"...aathiththaa! antha naaLil intha iru nathikaLukkum itaiyiluLLa
pirathaesaththi nee paarkkak kotuththu vaikkavillai. anthak kaatsikaLaip

naanum, arinjsayanum aimpathinaayiram veerarkaLai aayaththam seythOm."

Its a very small mention, though, isn't it? I wonder if its mentioned
    anywhere else?

    Q.No.2:

What figurine enjoyed the most popularity during the reign of the Cheras,
Cholas and Pandyas, and was extensively sculpted, both in stone and metal?

A: First place goes to Lord Nataraja!:-) No other figurine has so much grace
    and poise, in my opinion.

    Correct, Kamal?:-)))

There's one another figurine I liked too- the Kaalaarimurthi- in Kodumbalur.
    Lovely.

Many historians feel that the Pallava sculptures were the best, when it came
to expressions and grace- Any other views/opinions?? Thilak, Latha, Kamal,
Ram, Poo, Gokul, Sri, Manikandan, Yagna, Jana et al...what do you say?
