This Shivasthalam is located between Kanchipuram and Perungkaatur. You have to get down at Thirupanangkaadu junction and walk for 1 and half mile to the temple.There is no bus facility direct to the temple.We cannot find even a single shop around the temple and so come prepared with all your pooja and food requirements. The temple tank in front of the temple is called JadaGangai created by LordShiva is amazingly clean and very familiar for holy dip.

Lord shiva himself came as Adiyar in disguise to serve food and water to sundaramurthy swamigal and his disciples when they were passing through Thirupanagkadu with hunger.

Hi lots of temples with panai as thala viruksham. the interesting thing is many of them except malapadi are named after the tree itself. thiru panangkadu near kanchi, puravaar panangkaattur( near villupuram) thiru pananthaal( near mayavaram), thiru panaiyur( near thiruvarur)
lot of other temples too are named after their sthala virukshams, our very own kadambur is one. thiru mullai vaayil is another. thiru paachur( pasu- bamboo )is another.
