Since we are on the subject of wives, I wanted to pose a question that used to puzzle me in PS.
Why did Kundavai not marry VT when RRC married Vanathi before the men left on their naval expeditions?
I presume Kundavai must be already quite old (by those day's standards) to marry. It is strange that the younger brother got married before elder sister (I guess the explanation is that RRC needs to ensure heirs before leaving on dangerous missions) But what can be the reason for the delay in VT-Kundavai wedding?
Hi perhaps kalki thought it would take the sting out of manimekalai's death. coming to think of it 2, out of the 3 jodis married in the end. poor vanthiyathevan was left( perhaps to savour his bachelor hood for some more time) venketesh

How come ? kulothunga came via ammanga thevi, daughter of rajendran, son of vanathi and RRc

kalki - describes this in the chapter -vasantham vanthathu - in the dialogue between kundavai and VT - saying her parents wanted to go to kanchi soon and that as PS spurned the throne - inorder to appease kodumbalur periya velalar as well. it also mentions that kundavai sends VT on an important assignment and hence he couldnt be present...kalki also states that they both finally get married after lot of hassles?? what ,how and why kalki presents these info is still a question though..
