    Theme: Vedas and Education


    Dates: 18th November 2006 (Saturday) and 19th November 2006 (Sunday)


    Background:
    The whole life is a celebration with all its various colorful dimensions and with the core truth, which lies as the foundational reality of all its dimensions. Vedas, which exist for time immemorial, are the original sciences to demystify the life. Ramayana is the literature, which reflects the Vedic values in day-to-day life. Web of Life Makers (Webolim) is an organization, which facilitates people to experience the treasured esoteric values of Vedas and Ramayana and inculcate them in their everyday life. It conducts regular workshops, classes, camps, lectures and demonstrations on Vedas and Ramayana around the country and abroad to elucidate the public on various topics of interest, thereby providing simple yet clear solutions that are always integrated to the ��Fundamental Reality��.

    It has conducted lectures / workshops on Vedas & Ramayana in Hyderabad (29th Feb 05), Karimnagar (July 10th), Bangalore, Mysore, Madurai, Singapore and Chennai. (July 25th.) These workshops had participants from various cities like Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Chennai, Cochin, Trivandrum and Bangalore. On continuing this endeavor, we are planning the next workshop in Madurai. No prior knowledge of Samskrit and Vedas are required for the participants. The lectures will be both in English. The workshop is open for all. Each workshop has different themes based on Vedas. Some of the topics in which Webolim has conducted the workshops are ��Concept of Social Service in Vedas & Ramayana��, ��Life forces in Vedas�� & ��Vedic Yoga�� etc

    The theme for this workshop is ��Vedas and Education��. To show how the concept of education in Vedic culture can bring overall personality development in one��s personal, social and spiritual life, this 2 days program is being organised. The lectures in this workshop will be conducted in English. We welcome people from all over India to utilize this program.

    Schedule:
    The schedule is given separately below. The camp will be covering the following topics:


    Introduction to Vedas
    Concept of education in Vedic literature
    Value education through Bhagavad-Gita
    Cognitive growth in Vedic Gurukulas
    Vocational education in Vedic culture
    Asanas, Pranayama & Meditation will also be taught in this workshop



    Resource persons:

    Shri R.Rangan, MBA, is a spiritual guide and a young Vedic scholar, brought up in the traditional way in Vedic culture, did his Vedantic studies under Sri Sivarama Krisna Shastry of Kanchi Shankara Mutt, learnt Bhakti Shastras from Sri Krisnapremi Swamigal and Vyakarana and Sahitya Shastras from Vidwan Sri Tirumalachari of Srirangam. He also went through the conventional degree of MBA. He is a consultant to Vivekananda Yoga University, Bangalore. He did a deep sadhana to realize the spiritual realities dealt in Vedas and authored many books on Vedas, Ramayana & Yoga giving their meaning and their practicality for the present age. His one of the greatest contributions in the field of Vedanta is to author the book, Gita-samanvaya bhashya that deals with the synthesis of the interpretations of Shankara, Ramanuja and Madhva. He has composed thousands of poems in Samskrit. He is the founder president of Webolim. He delivers various discourses on Vedas, Upanishads, Epics and
    Puranas throughout India and abroad.


    Dr. Ram Mohan is a scholar of Vedas, Vedanta & Tamil literature. He is the vice president of Ramana Kendra, Chennai and edits the ��Ramanodayam�� journal. He is also the Editor �� Advisor of ��Mountain Path�� journal published from Ramanasramam, Tiruvanamalai. He is also a doctorate in Strategic Studies.


    Shri T Mohan MSc, YTIC, is the Registrar of Vivekananda Yoga University, Bangalore. He has been training many Yoga teachers since 1983. He is an important disciple of Dr H.R.Nagendra. He has a deep spiritual insight.


    Prof Ramachandra Bhat, PhD, is the dean of the division of Yoga & Spirituality in Vivekananda Yoga University, Bangalore. Brought up in the traditional way in Samskrit, He completed his Vidwat in Samskrit He also went through the conventional degree, Master's degree in the same subject including PhD from Mysore University. He started teaching in Janaseva Vidyashala, a residential school near Bangalore and developed many novel teaching techniques for effective communication. In he founded Veda Vijnana Gurukulam near Bangalore. He has participated in numerous Sanskrit, philosophical conferences in different parts of the country and is involved in active research and published various articles and papers in the journals.

    Stay Arrangements:
    This workshop is open for all. It is a residential workshop for which stay & food arrangements have been done. Separate stay facilities for men and women will be arranged. Food available for participants will be nutritious and non-spicy.

    Registration:
    Prior registration is required for attending this workshop. You can email to
    webolim@yahoo.co.in. Please do inform us by November 5th so that we can make suitable arrangements. The registration is restricted to 60 participants based on first come first served. Also if you want to join the group of people starting from various cities, do inform us so that we can connect you to the people starting from each city. There is a charge of Rs. 200/- per head for food expenses. Donations are welcomed for the camp.
